“I’m Involved” – make a personal difference
Street Action is a small charity with no full-time staff but a very committed trustee board and network of supporters. Join us and you will see your money, time or volunteering have a very direct impact on the lives of street children in Africa. We work with small organisations, often founded or led by former street children that want to find their own route to sustainability rather than follow the prescriptive direction of traditional NGOs. Whatever you can give will make a difference by helping street children help themselves to get off the streets.
There are a number of ways you can get involved:
- DONATE – Sign up for regular monthly giving, either directly or through your employer’s payroll giving; we rely on monthly giving to send predictable payments that our partners can rely on. One off donations are, of course, always extremely welcome.
- VOLUNTEER – Go to work with one of our partners, organise fundraising events, or donate some of your time to one of our projects in the UK
- TELL OTHERS – share the stories around the phenomenon of street children and our partners’ experiences to raise awareness with your friends and encourage them to get involved too. Role models like Dieudonne Nahimana the director of New Generation, provide examples, local solutions, and hope for other people working with street children.
