#london2buja

In 2018, through the generous donations of Street Action supporters, New Generation was able to buy their own plot of land in Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi. Alongside helping to develop their programmes, our focus for 2023/24 is to help them raise the money needed to build the first permanent building on this site.

Some of this money is being kindly donated by individual and corporate donors, but as a wider team of supporters, we are going to spend the year cycling / running / walking / swimming a collective distance of 10,000 km, the distance between London and Bujumbura, raising money for New Generation as we do!

Over the last few years, the #London2Buja campaign saw a Ride-a-thon in Richmond Park (2019), the Street Child Cycle Challenge through north Wales (2019) and the Lake District (2021), as well as many other individual rides, runs, swims and walks. Many more events are planned for 2024.

In September this year, the Street Child Cycle Challenge rides again, along the south coast, from 23-25 September 2023. And we will soon be setting the date for a bigger (and bolder) ride in early summer 2024. Email us if you are interested in joining us – info@streetaction.org.

If you want to make a donation then you can do so on the #London2Buja campaign page.

If you want to fundraise yourself, however far you feel like cycling, running or crawling, then you can set up your own fundraising page at Just Giving which will add any money you raise to the campaign total. Visit the #London2Buja campaign page and click on the orange ‘Start Fundraising’ button.

We’ll keep you updated on the running total (excuse the pun) of the total distance we have collectively achieved over the next few months.

However you play a part, thank you.
