A small amount can have a big impact.
Dieudonné Nahimana, from Burundi and founder of New Generation visited the UK recently and spoke very movingly about the impact their partnership with Street Action has had on their work with street children. This is only possible through the support individuals like you can give and as little as £5 can make a difference.
The vision for New Generation was started when Dieudonné was given a $5 note on Christmas day in 1998. Instead of spending the money on himself, he used it to buy a meal for the street children he was with. Dieudonné writes about a A hope filled Christmas for a hundred street children in Bujumbura.
You can have a similar impact on street children in Burundi, South Africa and Kenya today. As little as £5 can go a long way to begin the process of them finding an alternative to street life through the programmes our partners provide.
To show your support this Christmas, why don’t you give £5 by texting “SAOS11 5” to 70070. If you would like to give online, wherever you live in the world you can find out more about how you can give a one-off donation or provide monthly support for any amount you can afford to our partners by visiting Just Giving http://www.justgiving.com/streetaction/donate
Thank you for your support.
