Organise An Event - "Street Jam"
One way to contribute is to organise a fund-raising event such as a quiz night, jumble sale, sponsored sport event – any event however big or small helps raise funds and awareness for Street Action. If you are planning to run a marathon or a 10K, why not nominate Street Action as your charity?
We are a registered justgiving.com charity, and it is very easy to set up a webpage to publicise your event and pay in the proceeds online – you can also raise more money by enabling people to donate online even if they can’t come to your event on the day. To set up your justgiving page go to
http://www.justgiving.com/process/raisemoney/
Select the sort of event you want to organise (if in doubt, select the “Use your imagination” option), search for “Street Action” as your preferred charity and away you go. The money donated through the page will be processed by justgiving.com and passed on to us.
If you are a musician (or know someone who is) why not put on a "Street Jam" event? Whether its busking for an hour, taking over a local club night, organising a barn dance or persuading your local singing group to round up their family and friends for a music-hall night, making music is a great way to make money for your favourite charity. If you want any help or advice in organising an event, please email Dave de Paeztron (davedep@streetaction.org) – Dave worked as a volunteer for Oxfam for a year coordinating fund-raising music events around London.
This is "Street Action Rocks Crouch End", an event held in a cricket club in North London that raised £560.

The Calthorpe Cricket Club donated the use of their clubhouse and staffed the bar for free. The bands took no fee and donated the raffle prizes. Including musicians and helpers there were about 65-70 people present . £345 was paid for entry tickets, the raffle raised £130 and there were £80 contributions through the justgiving page from people who couldn’t be there on the night.
Company Connection Events
Street Action will organise more formal events to involve corporate givers in the fund-raising process – we are planning the first of these events towards the end of 2009.
