It's almost four weeks since the Cycle Africa team set off on their 12,000 mile journey from London to Cape Town. Currently in southern Germany, you can follow their progress on the official blog: http://www.cycleafrica.org/blog Street Action is proud to be the lead charity partner and will also be blogging as they get closer to Africa.

"Cycle Africa is an epic adventure but it also has a higher purpose; to raise UK and international awareness of the issues faced by Africa's street children and the vital, lifesaving work of smaller organisations like Street Action. We're proud to have Street Action as our lead partner on this project and hope that this can make a real and lasting difference in the lives of these children." Craig Pollard, founder and director of Cycle Africa

This is a journey with a purpose as they will raise awareness and money for street children by cycling from London to Cape. The team will be linking up with local street children organisations throughout their journey, including our partners in Burundi, Kenya and South Africa. They will also be helping to raise the profile of many leading grassroots organisations and projects working with street children. To see who they will be visiting along the route click here: http://www.cycleafrica.org/charities

We are working in partnership with other leading UK street children organisations such as Retrak, Railway Children and Street Child Africa and the Consortium for Street Children to keep you connected with the Cycle Africa team during their journey. Bringing real and positive stories of the work our partners do, Cycle Africa is also about finding advocacy opportunities to raise awarness of the issues street children face. You can follow Cycle Africa on Twitter and you can join their Facebook group for further updates.

We will be sending regular updates on the progress of the Cycle Africa team and how they helping to put Africa's street children on the map over the next twelve months.
